Eric was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He considered dropping out of high school in his sophomore year. Instead, he graduated like a normal kid with the rest of his class. Eric studied drama at Lon Morris College, received a B.A. in philosophy with a minor in English from the University of Houston, and earned a J.D. from South Texas College of Law. While in law school, he spent a summer studying international law in Paris, France.
He practiced law in Houston for a decade and a half. In addition to practicing law, Eric was editor-in-chief of an international trade law journal, worked with a representative in the Texas legislature, and had a variety of other jobs, including being a cook and slinging produce.
Eric’s poetry has been published in a variety of journals and reviews, both online and in hard copy, including Autumn Sky Poetry, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, Pudding Magazine, Poetry Quarterly, and Touch: The Journal of Healing. In 2013, his poem ‘The Meeting Ran Long’ was nominated for Sundress Publications’ “Best of the Net” anthology by Literary Orphans.
After making his home in Ohio for five and a half years, Eric recently returned to Texas. An archive of his published poems can be read at eric’s anecdotes, etc.
